Mercy

Waves of truth waging about our ears,
yet my pride will not let me hear.

I turned from the wise words of my peers,
So why are you still here?

Shall you punish me for my ignorance with
a thousand different strokes of pain?

Shall the blood lust seep into your eyes
and drive a betrayed soul insane?

Or shall you send me to the green-streaked meadow,
where all sorrow of humanity has fled?

Will you decide to show an old friend mercy
and leave me cold and dead?

Or will you strike me with your knife
and watch the snow turn red?

Will you rip my insides out,
though you know its the nightmares you'll dread?

Perhaps mercy is to die,
perhaps mercy is to live.

Maybe mercy isn't alive at all,
maybe there's just to hate
and hate
and hate
and maybe there's to forgive.
